THE GIANT TREE - PANDO
Discover the Beauty of the Tushar Mountains
Experience breathtaking scenery on the Paiute ATV Trails, explore majestic mountain peaks, and enjoy world-class hiking and mountain biking adventures.
The Tushar Mountains are also home to countless sparkling alpine lakes, offering peace, beauty, and endless outdoor recreation.
The name “Tushar” comes a Sanskrit word "tushara" meaning snow, water, dew, cold, or frost — a fitting description for these cool, pristine peaks. Rising above them all is Delano Peak, the 9th tallest mountain in Utah at over 12,000 feet, a symbol of adventure, beauty, and the natural wonders that surround us.
The “Giant Tree” — Pando
Just a short drive from Beaver, deep in the Fishlake National Forest, sits Pando — a massive aspen clone often called “the Trembling Giant.” Rather than being a single tree, Pando is a network of ~47,000 stems, all genetically identical and connected underground by one massive root system. It spans over 100+ acres, making it one of the heaviest and oldest living organisms on Earth.

EAGLE POINT RESORT
Where Mountain Beauty Meets Lakeside Relaxation
Eagle Point Resort – A Scenic Escape Just 19 Miles from DeLano Motel & RV Park
Tucked high in the Tushar Mountains, Eagle Point Resort is a favorite four-season playground—beautiful, uncrowded, and just 19 scenic miles from DeLano Motel & RV Park along Byway Hwy 153. The drive alone is part of the adventure, winding through forests, mountain overlooks, and alpine meadows as you climb toward one of Southern Utah’s most peaceful mountain getaways.
Formerly known as Elk Meadows, the resort has a long local history as a quiet ski retreat treasured by families and outdoor enthusiasts. Revitalized and expanded under the Eagle Point name, it now blends its nostalgic small-mountain charm with modern touches—steeper runs for thrill-seekers, gentle slopes for beginners, beautiful summer trails, and lodge amenities that still feel wonderfully tucked away from the world.
During the summer and fall, the area becomes a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone wanting crisp mountain air and wide-open views. In the winter, its powder-filled slopes remain one of Utah’s best-kept secrets.
To make the adventure even easier, Tucker High Adventure Tours offers shuttle rides straight from your stay—perfect for visitors who want to relax, enjoy the scenery, and leave the mountain driving to someone else.
Whether you’re chasing fresh snow, cool summer trails, or simply a peaceful day in the mountains, Eagle Point Resort delivers a memorable and refreshing escape—close enough for convenience, yet just far enough to feel like a true adventure.
